Developed and integrated board support and hardware configuration enhancements for the espressif/arduino-esp32 repository, focusing on expanding compatibility and streamlining onboarding for embedded systems. Delivered full Silicognition ManT1S board support, including detailed pins and Ethernet configuration, and standardized board naming to ensure reliable builds within the Arduino IDE. Subsequently, implemented multi-variant wESP32 support with configurable flash sizes and updated Ethernet PHY settings to accommodate newer hardware revisions. Leveraged C and C++ for Board Support Package development, hardware integration, and configuration management, resulting in reduced field issues and accelerated deployment of new board variants across the ESP32 ecosystem.
Delivered substantial ESP32 hardware configuration improvements in 2025-10 for espressif/arduino-esp32, emphasizing business value and technical robustness. Implemented multi-variant wESP32 support with configurable flash sizes (4MB and 16MB) and corresponding partition schemes, updated Ethernet PHY from LAN8720 to RTL8201 to improve compatibility with newer revisions, enabling broader hardware support and faster onboarding of new board variants. Also fixed wESP32 board config with new options (#11879) to align with recent hardware changes. Impact: reduces field issues, accelerates deployment across revisions, and strengthens ESP32 ecosystem.
