Worked on the livekit/agents-js repository to enhance real-time transcription and improve Azure-based large language model initialization. Introduced semantic voice activity detection for more accurate turn detection in real-time audio sessions, and expanded the InputAudioTranscription interface with optional language and prompt fields to support flexible, metadata-rich processing. Addressed a reliability issue by correcting how Azure-specific defaults are merged during LLM initialization, ensuring consistent deployment in enterprise environments. Leveraged TypeScript for both API design and integration, focusing on real-time communication workflows. The work delivered targeted improvements that streamline real-time collaboration and strengthen the robustness of Azure configuration handling in production.
