Worked on the zitadel/zitadel-charts repository to enhance security around database certificate management within the ZITADEL Helm chart. Focused on overhauling the certificate handling process, the developer updated YAML templates to introduce a new CA certificate template and removed the legacy root certificate secret template, streamlining secret management and improving deployment security. The work included renaming database certificate properties and updating all related template references to maintain consistency and prevent configuration drift. Leveraging DevOps practices and Helm expertise, the changes ensured more robust and secure database connections, addressing security hardening requirements for cloud-native deployments without introducing new bugs during the process.
