Yasser Belatreche contributed to the alan-eu/activepieces repository by building and enhancing core AI and backend systems over a three-month period. He developed a Redis-backed metadata cache with scheduled refreshes to reduce database load and improve lookup speed, using Node.js and TypeScript. Yasser also implemented dynamic AI model loading, centralized provider configuration, and daily caching strategies to standardize and scale AI integrations. His work included refactoring image generation utilities, expanding provider compatibility, and introducing robust error handling. Additionally, he delivered a monthly cap feature for AI credit auto top-ups, updating both backend logic and the React-based billing UI for transparency.
January 2026: Delivered AI Credits Auto Top-Up Monthly Limit and Billing UI in alan-eu/activepieces. Implemented a maximum monthly cap on auto top-up of AI credits, updated the billing UI to clearly reflect credit usage and remaining limits, and added a database migration to support the new cap. The changes enable better cost control, predictable billing, and a foundation for scalable credit management across customers.

December 2025: Implemented core AI proxy enhancements and provider standardization to boost reliability, scalability, and business value. Delivered per-provider dynamic model loading and a new AI proxy endpoints, integrated model creation flow, and aligned development with the recent changes. Centralized AI provider configuration and standardized model types across all providers, enabling consistent usage and easier onboarding. Introduced AI Proxy improvements with caching for AI provider models (daily cache clearing) and refactored image generation into helper utilities, leveraging the new common-ai package. Expanded the Cloudflare/OpenAI compatibility layer with two additional providers, and implemented OpenAI model categorization by type. Added AICredit pre-payment for AI billing to support predictable usage-based pricing. Also completed targeted bug fixes and maintenance to improve tests and linting.
