Jesko contributed to the osmandapp/OsmAnd repository by enhancing German localization and introducing a compact layout option for German-speaking users. Over two months, Jesko focused on improving internationalization support by adding new string resources and integrating Weblate-driven workflows to streamline translation updates. Using XML and localization best practices, Jesko ensured nearly complete German string coverage, achieving 99.9% translation readiness and maintaining traceability through detailed commit management. The work addressed both user experience and scalability, enabling faster deployment of UI variants and consistent localization across layouts. Jesko’s efforts strengthened the localization pipeline and reinforced quality assurance for mobile app development.
