Yuhuan improved data transfer workflows in the apache/airflow repository by implementing glob-based file matching for the GCSToGCSOperator and GCSToS3Operator. By adding the match_glob parameter to the template fields, Yuhuan enabled users to specify flexible glob patterns when selecting files for transfer between Google Cloud Storage and Amazon S3. This enhancement, developed in Python and leveraging Apache Airflow’s templating system, increased automation reliability and adaptability in cloud-based data engineering pipelines. The work demonstrated a focused application of cloud computing and data engineering skills, delivering a targeted feature that addressed a specific need for more robust file selection in workflow automation.
