Worked on the Beingpax/VoiceInk repository to enhance media playback control across macOS applications, focusing on improving reliability for Electron-based apps. Addressed a longstanding issue where media key events were ignored by certain apps by replacing the MRMediaRemote-based approach with direct simulation of NX_KEYTYPE_PLAY HID events. This technical shift ensured that global shortcuts, such as those used by Plexamp, responded consistently to media resume and pause commands. The solution was consolidated into a single, auditable Swift commit, reducing maintenance overhead and risk of regression. Core skills applied included Swift programming, macOS development, and expertise in media playback control.
