Worked on the freckle/react-hooks repository to modernize and streamline ESLint configuration for a React 18 codebase. Migrated legacy ESLint settings to the new eslint.config.mjs format, updated plugins and dependencies, and removed outdated directives to improve code quality and reduce maintenance overhead. Focused on enhancing developer productivity by reducing lint noise and ensuring consistent tooling across environments. Leveraged JavaScript and TypeScript to implement these changes, emphasizing compatibility and maintainability. The overhaul improved CI reliability and enabled more flexible dependency management in custom hooks, particularly by refining the useSafeImperativeHandle implementation for better long-term support and easier future updates.
