Worked on the zed-industries/zed repository to address a UI layout issue in the Expanded Commit Editor within the git panel. Using frontend development skills and Rust, applied the .h_full() modifier to ensure the editor consistently occupies the full height of its container, resolving a visual shrinking and centering problem that previously affected commit-message visibility. This targeted fix improved usability and aligned with Zed’s UI guidelines, while maintaining performance and minimizing risk by keeping the patch concise and self-contained. No new features were introduced during this period, with the focus placed on UI stability and workflow improvements through careful, standards-driven development.
