Developed an automated smoke test script for the penumbra-zone/penumbra repository to validate bidirectional IBC transfers between the Noble and Penumbra blockchains. The solution, implemented in Shell, configures both chains, executes test transfers in each direction, and verifies resulting balance updates, enabling manual validation of cross-chain IBC functionality with fewer steps. By automating these processes, the script streamlines the validation workflow, reduces manual intervention, and enhances the reliability of IBC operations. The work leveraged skills in blockchain, IBC protocols, and testing, resulting in a reusable validation harness that supports ongoing development and quality assurance for cross-chain transfer features.
