During October 2025, Safoma contributed to the awslabs/amazon-bedrock-agentcore-samples repository by addressing a critical deployment issue related to AWS region configuration. Safoma implemented a fallback mechanism in bash scripts that determines the AWS region from the AWS CLI configuration when the AWS_REGION environment variable is unset. This scripting solution prevents unbound variable errors and runtime failures, ensuring that deployments remain stable across diverse environments. By leveraging AWS and bash scripting skills, Safoma improved the reliability and resilience of the deployment process. The work demonstrated a focused approach to cross-environment compatibility, addressing a nuanced but impactful aspect of cloud automation.
