Developed and integrated Xugu database monitoring support for the apache/hertzbeat repository, expanding the platform’s ability to monitor diverse relational databases. The work involved adding a new JDBC driver dependency, updating Java-based connection logic, and defining monitoring parameters and metrics through configuration files using XML and YAML. This approach enabled out-of-the-box visibility for Xugu RDBMS, allowing users to monitor database health and performance without manual setup. By establishing a configuration-driven foundation, the implementation not only addressed immediate monitoring needs but also positioned the project for easier extension to additional databases in future development cycles, reflecting a scalable engineering approach.
