Worked on the kubernetes/minikube repository to deliver an automation-focused upgrade of the Portainer addon, emphasizing streamlined release management and reduced manual intervention. The project involved upgrading Portainer from version 2.15.1 to 2.27.7 and embedding a new CI workflow to automate version updates, leveraging Go and YAML for configuration and scripting. The Makefile was updated to drive the update-portainer process within the hack folder, integrating seamlessly with the build and release pipeline. This approach improved consistency across environments, accelerated release cycles, and minimized maintenance overhead, demonstrating practical application of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Kubernetes ecosystem expertise.
