Worked on the PowerDNS/pdns repository to enhance configuration management by implementing a deterministic UDP port avoidance order in the RecursorDist settings. Addressed the need for consistent behavior across deployments by sorting the udp_source_port_avoid list, which standardizes how UDP ports are excluded during configuration. This approach, developed using Python, improved predictability and maintainability of network settings, reducing the risk of misconfiguration related to port selection. The work focused on stability and business value, ensuring that configuration changes yield reliable results in diverse environments. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on delivering this targeted feature enhancement.
