Worked on the OpenShift Installer repository to deliver a security-focused enhancement for bare metal provisioning workflows. Developed and integrated BMC Verification CA support, allowing operators to specify a verification Certificate Authority for BMCs, which enables secure TLS communication during provisioning. This feature improved both the security and configurability of bare metal deployments by ensuring BMC certificates are validated throughout the process. The work was implemented in Go, leveraging Kubernetes concepts and backend development practices. Delivered as a single, well-scoped, DCO-signed change, the contribution aligned with repository standards and addressed compliance requirements for secure, scalable infrastructure provisioning without introducing new bugs.
