Worked on enhancing the intel/media-driver repository by delivering two features focused on media processing scalability and debugging reliability. Over two months, implemented VDBox Debug Override and Scalability Enhancements, enabling single-submission debug overrides and ensuring accurate media engine information across decode and encode paths. Introduced support for a third VDBox in the debug override functionality, updating MediaContext and adding usage validation to accommodate new hardware configurations. Leveraged C++ for development and debugging, with a strong emphasis on improving the robustness and flexibility of the media driver architecture. The work reduced debugging effort and prepared the framework for future scalability needs.
February 2025 monthly summary for intel/media-driver: Implemented third VDBox support in the debug override functionality. Updated MediaContext to accommodate the new VDBox and added usage validation to improve scalability and robustness. The work aligns with architecture goals to support additional VDBox configurations and future hardware extensions, delivering a more flexible and debuggable driver stack.
