Worked on the zulip/zulip repository to deliver unified CSS variable-based theming for modal and settings interfaces, focusing on select and input controls. The approach involved migrating hardcoded colors to standardized CSS variables and introducing tokens for disabled states, enhancing both light and dark mode compatibility. By removing redundant CSS rules, the work improved styling consistency and reduced maintenance overhead. This effort established a scalable foundation for future theme extensions and aligned the codebase with broader design token strategies. Demonstrated expertise in CSS and front end development, emphasizing maintainability, incremental refactoring, and minimizing visual regressions during the transition to variable-based theming.
