Worked on the google/digitalbuildings repository to improve the export functionality by fixing the update_mask logic, ensuring that lowercase enum values are used during Building Config exports. Addressed a bug by adding targeted tests to verify correct export behavior and prevent future regressions, using Python for both backend development and testing. Enhanced test reliability by introducing deepcopy to isolate test cases, reducing cross-test interference and improving overall suite stability. Cleaned up test outputs by removing unnecessary debug prints, resulting in clearer CI logs. Maintained clear, intention-revealing commit messages to document rationale and align changes with API expectations for maintainability.
