Worked on the music-computing/amads repository to deliver two core features enhancing musical score processing and analysis. Developed a Python-based algorithm to trim leading silence from musical scores, ensuring scores start at time zero while preserving originals for reproducibility and automated pipelines. Adapted methods from the Matlab MIDI Toolbox to achieve robust score trimming and laid the foundation for broader workflow integration. Subsequently, ported the concur onset grouping function, enabling rhythm analysis and quantification based on inter-onset intervals. Incorporated unit testing throughout, expanding the repository’s analytical capabilities and aligning its feature set with established music processing toolkits. No bugs were reported.
June 2026 monthly summary for music-computing/amads: Delivered the Concur Onset Grouping feature for musical scores by porting the concur function from the MIDI Toolbox to enable distinct onset-group computation based on inter-onset intervals. The feature includes tests and expands rhythm analysis and quantification capabilities, aligning AmADS with established tooling. CI reported regression tests could not be executed in this environment, with doc tests running instead. This work enhances automated score analytics, improves analytical parity with MIDI Toolbox, and lays groundwork for further rhythm- and tempo-related features.
