Addressed a critical bug in the mower’s total_stats_area sensor by reverting the unit of measurement to square meters, removing the suggested unit option from the sensor menu, and correcting the state calculation to accurately reflect the actual area. These updates stabilized area metrics used in automations and dashboards, reducing the risk of incorrect triggers caused by misleading units. The work involved Python programming, sensor development, and unit testing, demonstrating attention to detail in maintaining reliable sensor data for smart home automation workflows.
