Worked on the linuxmint/cinnamon-spices-applets repository, focusing on improving the Oneko Applet for Linux Mint Cinnamon. Addressed a persistent icon-update race condition by enforcing single-instance behavior, ensuring that only one instance of the applet could run at a time. This technical solution involved updating the applet’s metadata.json and modifying front end logic to prevent inconsistent icon states when multiple instances were launched. Utilized JSON for configuration and front end development skills to enhance applet reliability and user experience. The work resolved user-reported errors, contributing to a more stable and predictable applet environment without introducing new features.
