During March 2025, Bixilon contributed backend engineering work to the badges/shields repository, focusing on operational reliability and build efficiency. Bixilon implemented a graceful server shutdown mechanism that listens for SIGTERM signals, ensuring the Node.js server terminates cleanly and avoids abrupt process exits. Additionally, Bixilon optimized the Docker image build process by refining the Dockerfile and shell scripts to improve caching, reinstall node_modules only when necessary, and remove redundant files, resulting in a smaller and more maintainable container. This work demonstrated practical application of backend development, Docker, and CI/CD skills, addressing both runtime stability and deployment optimization within the project.
