Worked on the ministryofjustice/bichard7-next-data repository to enhance automation and reliability in the continuous integration process. Developed a custom workflow using Shell and YAML that replaced the legacy create-pull-request action with the GitHub CLI, enabling more deterministic and automated pull request creation for npm dependency updates. Addressed a workflow typo that previously led to duplicate pull requests and unstable CI runs by implementing a more robust existence check. These improvements streamlined dependency management, reduced manual intervention, and increased maintainability of the release process. The work demonstrated a strong focus on DevOps practices, GitHub Actions, and effective CI pipeline management.
