Worked on the observIQ/bindplane-otel-collector repository to address a critical issue in the Snapshot Processor, ensuring that metric aggregation temporality and monotonicity were preserved during filtering for sum, histogram, and exponential histogram types. Utilized Go to implement a targeted bug fix that maintained accurate metric reporting in filtered views, directly supporting observability and monitoring objectives. Enhanced the reliability of telemetry data by adding comprehensive test coverage for the filtering scenario, reducing the risk of regressions and false alerts. This work contributed to the stability of SRE and product metrics, aligning with the project’s goals for robust metrics processing using OpenTelemetry.
