Worked on the alphagov/government-frontend repository to streamline the user interface by removing an outdated HMRC banner and its associated tests. Focused on frontend development and asset management, the approach emphasized safe deprecation practices to ensure that obsolete UI elements no longer contributed to maintenance overhead or risked displaying stale content. Utilized erb and ruby for template and logic updates, along with yml for configuration adjustments. The work reduced the test suite load and kept the interface aligned with current branding requirements. No major bugs were reported or fixed during this period, reflecting a targeted and maintenance-driven engineering effort.
