Developed and delivered a Total Token Count Display feature for the hazelgrove/hazel repository, enhancing the chat interface by providing real-time visibility into token usage during conversations. The implementation focused on a minimal, low-risk UI change, integrating the token count seamlessly into the chat bottom bar without impacting performance or user experience. Using ReasonML for logic and CSS for styling, the work emphasized clarity and transparency, supporting users in managing token consumption and making informed decisions. The feature aligned with product goals around cost awareness, and was completed within a single, focused commit, demonstrating a precise and targeted engineering approach.
