Worked on the HiroIshida/torchcodec repository, focusing on enhancing code readability within the AudioEncoder component. The primary contribution involved a targeted refactor, systematically renaming the variable ‘wf’ to ‘samples’ across the AudioEncoder class and related functions. This change, implemented in Python, preserved all existing functionality while improving code clarity and maintainability. The approach emphasized consistent naming conventions, supporting easier onboarding and future development. No bugs were addressed during this period, as the core audio encoding logic remained stable. The work demonstrated skills in Python refactoring, code clarity, and disciplined version control, laying groundwork for future enhancements.
