
Worked on the AFM-SPM/TopoStats repository to enhance data ingestion and export stability for scientific image analysis workflows. Developed new functionality in Python to support loading STP and TOP image formats, extending the LoadScans module and updating validation logic to recognize these file types. Addressed a critical bug in data serialization by refining the AFMReader’s handling of nested grain crop data, ensuring accurate HDF5 exports and preserving data integrity for downstream analysis. The work demonstrated proficiency in data loading, file I/O, and serialization, delivering targeted improvements that increased the reliability and flexibility of the software’s data processing pipeline.
