Worked on the acl-anthology repository to implement Name Variants Normalization for Freda Shi, focusing on improving author attribution and data quality throughout the system. Leveraged YAML for structured data management, updating the name_variants.yaml file to include canonical, ORCID-aligned, and alternate spellings, which enhanced the accuracy of author matching and search functionality. The approach established a reproducible process for future expansions by utilizing commit-based traceability and configuration-driven updates. This work emphasized careful data management practices and contributed to more consistent author representation across the repository, laying a foundation for scalable improvements in metadata quality using version-controlled YAML configurations.
