Worked on security hardening for the Gemini API within the prowler-cloud/prowler repository, focusing on compliance and risk reduction for sensitive API access. Developed automated checks in Python to disable the Gemini API when endpoints were non-compliant and to restrict API key usage for the GCP Gemini (Generative Language) API. Leveraged expertise in API management, GCP, and cloud security to consolidate protections and improve the repository’s overall security posture. The implementation prepared the codebase for a broader rollout, ensuring that security standards are enforced consistently and that risk exposure is minimized across environments where the Gemini API is deployed.
