During June 2025, Surt worked on the codecentric/c4-genai-suite repository, focusing on enhancing security and code quality in backend systems. He re-enabled HTTPS client certificate validation in the Node.js backend, addressing insecure connections and aligning with best security practices. Leveraging TypeScript and YAML, Surt also improved the CI/CD pipeline by integrating merge-gatekeeper for quality gating, configuring dependency review workflows, and adding Gitleaks secret scanning to prevent hardcoded secrets. These changes ensured that pull requests met higher security and quality standards before merging, reflecting a methodical approach to risk reduction and release reliability within a short project timeframe.
