He extended the Disease enum in Java to support viewing INVASIVE_PNEUMOCOCCAL_INFECTION, thereby improving the platform’s ability to capture and analyze granular disease data. This backend development work focused on increasing data granularity for surveillance and analytics, which supports more effective outbreak response and research. Federico utilized Java and Git-based collaboration to deliver this feature, ensuring stability while introducing new functionality. Over the month, his work demonstrated a focused approach to backend feature development, addressing a specific need without introducing regressions.
