Worked on maintaining the Kamailio repository, focusing on the StirShaken module within the context of network security and SIP protocols. Addressed a bug by removing a redundant X.509 certificate path check, which had previously duplicated validation already handled by the underlying library. This change streamlined the validation logic, reduced code duplication, and lowered ongoing maintenance costs. Updated the module’s documentation to clarify the new validation flow, ensuring future contributors can easily understand the revised logic. Utilized C and system programming skills to implement these improvements, contributing to a more maintainable and extensible codebase without introducing new features during this period.
