During October 2024, Galaxyshard focused on enhancing cross-language embedding in the ziglang/zig repository by developing support for embedding C files within Zig projects. They implemented the addEmbedPath function in Zig’s std.Build, enabling the build system to manage search directories for C #embed directives. This work involved extending the build process to handle embedded data, laying the foundation for scalable embed path management in future Zig builds. Utilizing skills in C programming, build system development, and system programming, Galaxyshard delivered a targeted feature that improves interoperability between Zig and C, addressing a key need for more flexible cross-language project structures.
