Worked on the Wanderers-Of-The-Rift/wotr-mod repository to deliver a major expansion of the item customization system, introducing a data-driven Rune Gem and Socketable Item System. This update enabled socketable items with per-slot modifiers and expanded rune support for health, attack, defense, and speed, aligning in-game assets with code through Modtags integration in Java. Alongside feature development, performed a comprehensive codebase maintenance pass using Java and Lua, including formatting, import cleanups, and rebase adjustments. These efforts reduced technical debt, improved maintainability, and established a more efficient foundation for future iterations, with no critical user-facing bugs reported during the period.
April 2025: Delivered a major expansion of the item customization system in Wanderers-Of-The-Rift/wotr-mod and completed a comprehensive codebase maintenance pass. The Rune Gem and Socketable Item System now supports socketable items, per-slot modifiers, and a data-driven rune set across health, attack, defense, and speed, with updated assets and tags. A Java-side Modtags integration was added to support these features. In parallel, formatting and maintenance work (spotlessApply, import cleanups, rebase-related adjustments) reduced technical debt and improved consistency across the codebase. No critical user-facing bugs detected; engineering efficiency has improved to enable faster future iterations.
