Worked on the KB-iGOT/sunbird-devops repository to enhance deployment reliability by implementing graceful shutdown support across multiple services. Focused on containerization and DevOps best practices, the work involved updating deployment manifests using YAML to add Kubernetes preStop lifecycle hooks. This approach ensured that containers terminated gracefully, reducing the risk of abrupt shutdowns during updates and maintenance. By applying these changes to five different deployments and services, the updates improved system availability and user experience during scaling and upgrade operations. The work demonstrated a strong understanding of Kubernetes, Helm, and deployment hygiene, emphasizing safe and maintainable operational processes.
