Worked on the NVIDIA/edk2-platforms repository to modernize platform firmware by removing deprecated UGA support from both the CirrusLogic5430Dxe driver and Intel platform code. Focused on aligning the codebase with current UEFI standards, the approach involved eliminating legacy UGA-specific code while preserving GOP compatibility to ensure consistent boot graphics behavior. This update, implemented in C and leveraging expertise in embedded systems and graphics driver development, streamlined the firmware codebase and reduced ongoing maintenance requirements. The work addressed technical debt by simplifying platform initialization paths, minimizing potential regression surfaces, and supporting long-term maintainability for UEFI driver development in embedded environments.
