Worked on restructuring the FreeCAD/FreeCAD-addons repository by migrating the Trails submodule to a new Road submodule, aiming to streamline module management and align with evolving Road-based workflows. The technical approach involved updating the .gitmodules file, adjusting submodule paths and URLs, and ensuring seamless integration within the repository. This refactor, implemented primarily using Git and Python, reduced maintenance overhead and improved the clarity of the repository structure. By focusing on maintainability and future-proofing, the work enabled easier navigation and simplified submodule references, supporting more efficient development practices for contributors working with FreeCAD-addons and its modular architecture.
