Worked on enhancing the PostHog/posthog-js library by implementing targeted bot-blocking protection to reduce unwanted crawler traffic. Focused on backend development using TypeScript, the contribution involved adding a new rule to the blocked-uas.ts file to specifically block the Leikibot user agent. This change was managed through a disciplined workflow with linked issues and clear commit messages, ensuring traceability and maintainability. By preventing Leikibot from crawling, the update improved site performance and data integrity by reducing analytics noise and enhancing page load times. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to feature delivery and effective use of modern JavaScript tooling.
