Worked on the OWASP/Nest repository to enhance the navigation experience by improving the community dropdown’s interactivity. Implemented a pointer cursor to clearly indicate clickable elements, addressing usability and accessibility concerns in the navigation component. Developed automated tests in JavaScript and TypeScript to verify cursor styling and ensure accessibility standards were met, thereby reducing the risk of UI regressions. Focused on front end development using React, the work emphasized both user experience and maintainability. The changes increased navigation discoverability and consistency, while the addition of targeted test coverage reinforced long-term reliability for future updates to the navigation interface.
