Worked on the snowplow-javascript-tracker repository to enhance data hygiene for media event tracking. Developed a feature in TypeScript that strips empty optional fields from the Media Player entity before processing, ensuring that only meaningful data is transmitted. This update involved modifying core front end logic and expanding the test suite to validate the new behavior, with a focus on regression safety and maintainability. By preventing the transmission of empty strings in optional fields, the work improved data quality, reduced unnecessary bandwidth usage, and contributed to cleaner downstream analytics. Emphasized reliability and thorough testing throughout the development process.
