Worked on the usememos/memos repository to enhance the reliability and privacy of memo creation in the web frontend. Focused on a targeted bug fix that ensures the default visibility setting is consistently applied when users create a new memo without specifying a name, thereby preventing unintended privacy exposures. The solution involved a precise update to the React-based frontend, leveraging TypeScript to enforce the correct default behavior within the memo creation flow. This change improved the consistency of privacy defaults and user experience, with a minimal and auditable code modification that addressed a specific gap in the application’s handling of memo visibility.
