Worked on the ethereum/execution-specs repository to implement the P256VERIFY precompiled contract, introducing P-256 ECDSA signature verification as specified by EIP-7951. Developed the core verification logic in Python, integrating cryptographic routines and aligning with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) requirements. Addressed gas cost modeling and address mappings to ensure seamless integration within the smart contract execution environment. Focused on cryptography and smart contract development, the work enhanced EVM capabilities by supporting a new signature scheme. The implementation was delivered as a single feature, reflecting a targeted and technically detailed approach to extending Ethereum’s execution specifications with robust cryptographic support.
