Worked on the sunnypilot/opendbc repository to address a steering control limitation for the Genesis G90 within an automotive software context. Focused on embedded systems and Python, the contribution involved updating values.py to remove the STEER_MAX limit for the Genesis G90 by excluding its fingerprint from the steer limiter logic. This change aligned the software’s steering constraints with the actual hardware capabilities of the vehicle, thereby reducing unintended steering restrictions and improving the driving experience. The work demonstrated careful attention to hardware-software integration and targeted bug resolution, reflecting a methodical approach to maintaining accurate vehicle behavior in embedded automotive applications.
