During February 2025, Michael Zeigler focused on improving the visual consistency and maintainability of the mitre/hipcheck repository’s user interface. He addressed a persistent UI layout issue by normalizing padding across the base, footer, and navigation HTML templates, ensuring alignment remained consistent at all breakpoints. Using his expertise in HTML and CSS, Michael also removed an unnecessary span from the index template to simplify the DOM and cleaned up whitespace in the navigation template, which stabilized spacing and reduced layout shifts. His targeted front end development work enhanced rendering reliability across screen sizes and reduced the risk of future visual regressions.
