Developed a targeted feature for the Submitty/Submitty repository, introducing a date-specific Easter egg that displays an 'April Fool's Duck' image exclusively on April 1st. The implementation involved backend and frontend development, utilizing PHP for logic within the GlobalController and SVG for the custom duck asset. The approach focused on minimizing risk by scoping changes to a single, clean commit, ensuring stability and ease of maintenance. No bug fixes were addressed during this period, as the work prioritized a stable, ownership-friendly enhancement that adds a playful, time-bound UI element without impacting core workflows or increasing maintenance overhead.
