Worked on the aws/amazon-q-developer-cli repository to enhance the reliability of knowledge migration workflows by addressing a critical bug related to directory integrity. Focused on backend development using Rust, the solution involved implementing a file-only migration strategy within the migrate_legacy_knowledge_base function. This approach ensured that only files, not agent directories, were moved during the migration process, thereby preserving the existing directory structure and preventing disruptions to the /knowledge show feature. The fix reduced migration-related risks, stabilized knowledge base visibility for end users, and minimized support incidents, reflecting careful attention to data integrity and operational stability in Rust-based systems.
