Developed and integrated System Control Processor (SCP) firmware for the MT8188 SoC within the NVIDIA/linux-firmware repository, focusing on enabling a dedicated RISC-V SCP to manage video encoding and decoding, MDP operations, and CrOS EC host commands. The work involved implementing firmware version v2.0.27748 in binary, emphasizing firmware development best practices and a streamlined packaging process. This integration established a foundation for enhanced media performance, power efficiency, and platform reliability on MT8188 devices. The project was delivered as a self-contained update with a clear commit history, simplifying future maintenance and updates while ensuring robust support for new hardware capabilities.
