In June 2025, Gino Valente developed a new editable property for the Cart API and introduced the useCartEditable hook within the Shopify/ui-extensions repository. Working primarily with JavaScript, TypeScript, and tsx, Gino enhanced the cart editing capabilities, allowing developers to implement more flexible in-cart editing workflows for storefronts. He updated documentation, provided both JavaScript and React examples, and prepared detailed release notes to support adoption. This work focused on improving developer experience and enabling future customization of cart functionality. The depth of the implementation addressed both API development and documentation, laying groundwork for more robust storefront integrations.
