Worked on the Giswater/giswater_dbmodel repository to enhance spatial data auditing by fixing the audit trigger creation logic for key spatial tables. Using PL/pgSQL and SQL, updated triggers to fire specifically after geometry changes, ensuring that modifications to the_geom in tables such as node, arc, connec, link, and gully are accurately logged. This approach improved data lineage and change tracking for spatial data, supporting better troubleshooting and regulatory compliance. The update maintained existing trigger behavior for non-spatial tables, resulting in a performance-neutral solution. All changes were code-reviewed, with no regressions observed, demonstrating careful attention to database auditing and development practices.
